Ranchi, Aug 30 (UNI) Former Jharkhand Chief Minister Champai Soren joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on Friday.
Along with Champai Soren, who resigned from the JMM and also quit as a state minister two days back, his son Babulal Soren also joined the BJP.
Champai Soren was given BJP membership by Union Agriculture Minister and Jharkhand BJP in-charge Shivraj Singh Chouhan and Assam Chief Minister and co-in-charge Himanta Biswa Sarma.
Champai Soren, known as "the Kolhan Tiger", pitched his lot with the saffron outfit at a ceremony in the Dhurva Roundabout ground here.
On this occasion, Jharkhand BJP state president Babulal Marandi, and other senior leaders including Amar Bauri, Laxmikant Vajpayee and former Chief Minister Arjun Munda were present. UNI AKS SSP
